Wife Jena Sims Opens Up on How Brooks Koepka Follows Her Lead in Key Area: ‘We Are Both Aware…’
After a whirlwind summer of family milestones with son Crew and husband Brook Koepka‘s globe-trotting golf, Jena Sims has made one thing pretty clear. She is the one with the reins in the family, keeping all the pieces together at home. While Koepka has to grind on the LIV Golf schedule, Sims manages the new chaos of their growing family with her sharp sense of organization. She has openheartedly embraced her new role as the “general manager,” and in a recent interview, she shed light on her methodology.
It’s simple — just have two calendars. And it’s a mix of old school with the zing of new technology. Sims revealed that she takes the help of a shared Apple calendar and a traditional paper version, both of which hang up in the kitchen. “If there is a pertinent event or appointment, I put it on our shared Apple calendar with an alert so Brooks knows what is going on,” she explained on SI Swimsuit. “Otherwise, he can refer to the printed calendar I have hung in our kitchen. As a couple, we are both aware of each other’s strengths and weaknesses, so that contributes to our success as a team.”
Sims’ past struggles and family setbacks have made her stronger and more independent, creating scheduling conflicts. With a husband traveling over 100,000 miles each season, structure is essential.

This became clear after their son, Crew, was born six weeks premature in July 2023 and spent 20 days in the NICU. Leaving the hospital without him was, as Sims put it, “the hardest thing we’ve ever done.”
But Crew’s struggles didn’t end there. He also battled early health challenges, including torticollis and plagiocephaly, conditions that cause head tilt and flat spots on the skull, respectively. He had to wear a corrective helmet for over a year. It’s in February that he finally “graduated” from the helmet therapy, a milestone that Sims celebrated as a huge family victory.

Even before having children, Sims wanted to continue working. “I’m still going to be working. I’m still gonna have a life,” she told Koepka. True to her words, she kept her career going. She has appeared several times in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She often walks the runways, and she also has a nonprofit called “Has Been Beauty Queens.” Recently, she landed a role in Happy Gilmore 2. All this while being a full-time mom, making not herself and her fans but even Brooks proud.
“Some weeks I’m in the trenches with Crew and haven’t showered in three days. “I’m just doing the mom thing — going to gymnastics and trying to get him to eat new foods and changing diapers. And then other weeks, I’m in Miami walking during Swim Week for Sports Illustrated,” she explained once.

Balancing family life comes with sacrifices. LIV Golf was meant to be family-friendly, but Koepka’s 2026 schedule includes 218 hours of flight time — more than double a typical PGA Tour player and equal to circling the Earth four times.
This year, he played 18 events across the Majors, LIV, and DP World Tour, finishing fourth in his most recent start at the FedEx Open de France.
Koepka’s schedule leaves little time at home, so Sims and Crew must adapt by carving out family moments whenever possible. It takes constant communication, flexibility, and some firm decisions to make it work.
Jena and Brooks’ stance on privacy
Family comes first to both Jena Sims and Brooks Koepka. I mean, it was partially the reason why Koepka joined LIV in the first place, for his family. So the couple knows the importance, and they are keen on making this work too, no matter how lucrative a deal comes to them, which might hamper this house of cards. Sims recently revealed on The Nikki and Brie Show that she and Koepka have turned down reality TV offers “like 30 times.” The reason? Privacy.
“I don’t think it’s good for relationships, and Brooks finds it dangerous when people can see sort of the layout of the inside of your home. We’re big on safety, and he’s really big on privacy.”
Now, with Crew hitting a new age, Sims describe life as a constant pendulum. Some weeks, she’s knee-deep in diaper duty and preschool routines. Other weeks, she’s glammed up at Swim Week or hosting an event. Through it all, she’s leaned into her strengths, color-coding every appointment on the calendar. And Brooks has also been quite helpful in this.

We’re just such a good team, and we’re really good at delegating. “He can also read a room. If I’m really stressed, Brooks can pick up on it. He’ll come in and say, ‘I’m changing this diaper’ or ‘I’ll do bedtime tonight.’ He doesn’t have to do all that, but he does,” Sims shared in an interview once.
None of this has been simple, neither for Koepka nor for Sims. But through it all, she’s still running the show. And one must say, she is doing it perfectly.
