It is not easy to pick and choose which player has stood out the most for Tottenham this season. But one player that has certainly made a mark under Frank is Micky van de Ven. The Dutchman has shown immense quality in recent games, helping the Lilywhites keep four clean sheets. Not only that, but the 24-year-old has also been involved on the other end of the football pitch, scoring against West Ham in the club’s last Premier League fixture.
Tottenham star Micky van de Ven urged to reconsider transfer stance amid exit links
It was reported earlier this week that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Mick van de Ven for a potential transfer. The La Liga giants are not the only ones hoping to test the waters for the Dutchman’s services, as Liverpool and Chelsea are also planning a move for next summer. However, the aforementioned report states that Tottenham have no intentions of losing their key player and have put an asking price of €80m for his services.
Now, John Wenham has also urged the 24-year-old to stay at N17 and become a vital part of the team under Thomas Frank. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“At the moment, there’s no basis for him to go. We’re playing in the Champions League. He’s won a major European trophy playing for us. He’s only made his Champions League debut on Tuesday of this week.”
