Apple has once again shifted the technology landscape with the unveiling of its new product line-up at its latest event.
From enhanced camera systems and industry-leading processing to sleek new forms, this line-up signals a bold new chapter in Apple’s evolution.
All new products will take pre-orders from September 12 with deliveries expected from September 17.
Here are all the latest products that Apple has dropped.
The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch screen with several significant improvements including a 120Hz screen, which was previously only possible on Pro iPhones.
And good news for those who always drop their phones. The new Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple claims has three times higher scratch resistance, is used in said display.
It also features a five-core GPU, six-core CPU, and an enhanced neural engine. According to Apple, the phone offers “all-day battery life” which presumably translates to eight hours greater video playback than the iPhone 16.
You can charge up to 50 per cent in 20 minutes with the correct power adaptor, and you can play videos for eight hours with just ten minutes of charging.
It’s time to look at the cameras. The bottom camera is a “Fusion” camera, which combines a 12MP 2x Telephoto lens with a 52mm focal length with a 48MP primary camera with a 26mm focal length. With a 12MP 1x macro lens at 26mm and a 48MP ultra-wide at 13mm, the ultra-wide angle is also a Fusion lens.
This phone is available in Lavender, Sage, Mist Blue, White and Black.
This is Apple’s first iPhone with a unibody frame. The phone’s new pro camera system, which now takes the form of a bar on the back, is instantly noticeable. Apple refers to this as the plateau.
The new Centre Stage camera is included with both the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The three rear cameras on this model are all 48MP Fusion cameras. Accordingly, the telephoto lens offers the longest optical zoom of any iPhone, with 4x and 8x zooms at 100 and 200 mm, respectively.
ProRes RAW capture, a format that enables picture data editing straight from the camera sensor, is supported by the 17 Pro. The phones are compatible with Genlock, which allows for multi-camera setups for effects like bullet time and time splicing, Final Cut Camera, and Blackmagic Camera.
The Pros come in Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange.
Apple finally revealed the iPhone Air, which has been in the works for years. The Air will have a considerably slimmer chassis but the same A19 Pro chip as the 17 Pro.
Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever has “MacBook Pro levels of compute in an iPhone” after Apple put “Neural Accelerators” in each GPU core.
The iPhone Air only has one camera. According to Apple, the 48MP Fusion camera system functions similarly to “multiple advanced cameras in one.”
The Apple Watch Series 11 supports 5G. You can get higher speeds if you purchase a cellular Series 11 and your carrier supports it, which Apple claims most do.
Additionally, the Series 11 is the first Apple Watch to include a blood pressure monitoring technology. The function will examine your bloodstream and notify you if it believes you are suffering from chronic high blood pressure, even though it is unable to identify all forms of hypertension.
For the first time on the Apple Watch, the Series 11 also has a sleep score. This capability is available on other smartwatches and fitness trackers, but according to Apple, the Series 11 can evaluate your sleep patterns and amount of time spent asleep to calculate your overall sleep score and provide you with recommendations for better sleeping practices.
The Series 11’s retail price is from £369.
There are also two additional watches that have been announced at the event – Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Two firsts for the SE range are the Always-On display and gesture control functionality of the Apple Watch SE. Additionally, Apple is incorporating sleep apnoea detection, the new sleep score from the Series 11, and a wrist temperature sensor into this watch.
In relation to the Series 11, the SE 3 is 5G compatible. It even features an integrated speaker, which is often only found in Apple’s more expensive watches. With its 18-hour battery life and fast charging capability, the SE 3 can be used for eight hours after just 15 minutes of charging.
The SE 3’s price starts from £219.
With LTPO 3, the Ultra 3 now boasts a wide-angle OLED display. You can actually see the second hand shifting since it allows the Always-On display to refresh more quickly. This year’s screen is also a little bigger without requiring Apple to change the watch’s actual dimensions.
In addition, the Ultra 3 is the first smartphone to support satellite connectivity. When a cellular connection is unavailable, the watch may now send messages via satellite, just like some iPhones. According to Apple, the Ultra 3’s radio now has twice the signal power of the Ultra 2 in order to provide this capability.
The Ultra 3 is available from £749.
Apple has revealed the AirPods Pro 3, the brand’s first new model in three years.
With their new “multi-port acoustic architecture” Apple claims that the upgraded earphones enhance the airflow that delivers sound waves to your ears.
They also include new foam-infused tips that, according to the company, will assist the earbuds provide active noise cancellation (ANC) that is four times better than the original AirPods Pro and two times better than the AirPods Pro 2.
This year’s AirPods Pro 3 have two amazing new features. The first is live translation, which has the ability to translate conversations in real time. While the other person sees the translation of your words on the screen of your iPhone, you hear the translations in your ears.
Although Google’s earbuds can accomplish the same thing, this function isn’t very special, but it’s still a great addition.
The other key feature is a heart rate sensor that allows you to track up to 50 different workout kinds and provides your AirPods Pro some of the features of an Apple Watch. Additionally, you might have noticed that Apple has somewhat changed these buds.
The new foam tips come in five sizes, and they are now slightly smaller. The IP57 rating of the AirPods Pro 3 indicates that they are resistant to sweat and water. Additionally, according to Apple, the earbuds will provide ANC for eight hours and transparency for ten hours before you need to replace them in the charging case.
