The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Takoradi Metropolis Hon Faustinus Faidoo has highlighted the progress made in the metropolis over the past eight months.
According to the MCE, the metropolis is on track to drive development and make a positive impact under his leadership.
Speaking after a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee on Local Government, the MCE noted that waste management is a significant challenge in Takoradi due to its status as the regional capital and a major landing site for waste from other areas.
He acknowledged that revenue mobilization is also a problem but expressed optimism about improving the situation.
Despite the nationwide water crisis, the MCE assured that Takoradi Metropolis does not face significant water problems. He called on the government for assistance to support the metropolis’s development initiatives.
The MCE’s remarks underscore the metropolis’s potential for growth and development, with effective waste management and revenue mobilization being key areas of focus. With government support, Takoradi Metropolis can continue to thrive and provide a better quality of life for its residents.
