Sunday had over 12 hours of NFL football, and the Cincinnati Bengals got to watch all of it. The Bengals entered the week atop the AFC North at 2-1, and two of their rivals fell flat against quality teams. They do however need to win against the Denver Broncos tonight to keep pace with one of their divisional foes. Let’s take a look around at what Cincinnati’s division did in Week 4.
Steelers topple Vikings in NFL’s first Ireland game
The Steel Curtain looked to be out in full force across the pond in Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings. Pittsburgh’s pass rush had Carson Wentz in a pretzel for most of the day in Dublin, sacking the veteran quarterback six times and intercepting him twice. Aaron Rodgers, on the other hand, only had four incompletions on 22 attempts and averaged 9.1 yards per attempt.A multi-score lead nearly evaporated in the end, but the Steelers won, 24-21, and advance to 3-1 by beating the team that just walloped the Bengals a week ago.
Browns become easy meal for Lions
In another AFC North vs. NFC North matchup, The Detroit Lions also notched their third win of the year by handling their business at home against the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland was held to under three yards per carry and Joe Flacco’s 39.3 passer rating was the seventh-lowest in his career as a starter in a 34-10 win for the Lions.Detroit’s offense came alive against a Browns defense that had Cincinnati locked up for an entire half of football. It will be a story to watch for when the Lions comes down I-75 to play the Bengals this coming Sunday.
Ravens fall to 1-3 after blowout loss to Chiefs
To close out the day, the Baltimore Ravens fell to 1-3 for the third time in franchise history. Coincidentally, they’ve all happened in 10-year increments (2005, 2015, 2025). The Kansas City Chiefs handed Baltimore its third loss of the year by way of a 37-20 victory in Xavier Worthy’s first game back. Worthy had five receptions for 83 yards and another 38 yards running the ball. The Ravens not only have a hole to climb out of, but Lamar Jackson’s hamstring is also something to monitor this week. Jackson left the game in the middle of the third quarter and did not return.
NFL Week 4 AFC North record
The AFC North went 1-2 on Sunday while the Bengals got an extra day of rest. Cincinnati’s break ends at 8:15 p.m. ET Monday night.
