    Saints Get Major Update on Tayson Hill's Return

    The New Orleans Saints are coming off a 31-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and with a 0-4 record, they badly need some good fortune in order to turn things around.

    They have already been without starting quarterback Derek Carr, who announced he was retiring during the offseason after sustaining a serious shoulder injury. In addition, pass rusher Chase Young has yet to play this season due to a calf injury.

    Tight end Taysom Hill also hasn’t gotten onto the field yet in 2025. He has been dealing with a chest injury, but luckily, the Saints have reportedly opened the practice window for him, as well as for Foster Moreau, yet another player on their roster who hasn’t played yet this year.

    Hill is one of the NFL’s more versatile players on offense. In eight previous seasons, all of which have been spent in New Orleans, he has played the tight end, wide receiver and quarterback positions, and he has also taken handoffs from time to time with efficient results.

    Last season, he caught 23 passes for 187 yards and rushed for 278 yards and six touchdowns on 39 carries. He was limited to eight games due to injury.

    Moreau, meanwhile, had 32 receptions for 413 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.

    New Orleans is struggling mightily on both sides of the football. It ranks 29th in points scored and 27th in points allowed coming into Monday, and not one member of its roster is currently averaging as many as 10 yards per reception. It ranks next-to-last in net yards gained per reception.

    The Saints will host the New York Giants this Sunday and the New England Patriots the following weekend before heading north to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Oct. 19.
