The Defense Ministry and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced on Wednesday the completion of development for a new laser missile defense system, and its planned entry into operational service with the Israel Defense Forces before the end of 2025. The system is expected to transform Israel’s air defense capabilities, sharply reduce the country’s air defense costs, and significantly cut reliance on other systems, particularly the Iron Dome.
