GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) – A 13-year-old boy in North Carolina was shot and killed after being robbed for a $50 necklace, according to authorities.
Investigators say that officers got the call around 2:30 to the 3800 block of Sterling Pointe Drive on July 25.
When officers arrived, they found 13-year-old Emiliano Gutierrez-Boviall shot.
The 13-year-old was taken to ECU Health Medical Center, where he later died.
At this time, police said they charged a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old with the teen’s murder. Due to the suspects being juveniles, they have not been identified.
Court documents say the teens shot Gutierrez-Boviall as they were trying to rob a necklace worth $50 from the 13-year-old.
