Kebbi Gov releases N695.9m outstanding registration for students studying across higher institutions

The Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has released the sum of N695,936,660.00 for the payment of the remaining outstanding registration fees for the Kebbi State students studying across the higher institutions in Nigeria for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Commissioner for Higher Education,Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga confirmed this while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi about the payment and other developmental actions taken by the Governor under his Ministry.

Tunga said: “on behalf of the Ministry for Higher Education,I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency,Dr. Nasir Idris has graciously approved and directed the release of funds for the key projects in the education sector, including the settlement of outstanding students’ registration fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.

“The Governor has approved the renovation of Abdulsalam Nagimbana, Bush House and Emir Haruna Rasheed students’ hostels at the State College of Health Sciences and Technology,Jega with the sum of N230,205,981.96.

“”The Governor approved the procurement of essential equipment for the take off of the newly established College of Midwifery,Ambursa,Birnin Kebbi,such as Library, Demonstration Room,ICT,Sick Bay, Physical Sciences Laboratory and Microbiology Lab with the sum of N251,525,065.00.

“He also approved the payment of the remaining outstanding registration fees for the Kebbi State students studying across the nation for the 2024/2025 academic session with the sum of N695,936,660.00″.

Tunga noted that the interventions of the Governor has really shown his unwavering commitment to expanding access to quality education and strengthening Kebbi State’s tertiary institutions.

” This will enabling them to compete favourably with their counterparts across the nation.

“Education remains a vital, long -term investment and the foundation of sustainable societal progress. No effort or resource is too great when it comes to safeguarding the future of our younger generation “.

Tunga who applauded the Governor for his timely interventions , urged the students and citizens in the state to continue to support the current administration in it’s efforts to deliver quality education and good governance.
