David Moyes, Everton manager, on Sky Sports:
We know what it’s like in football as managers. You have to always expect that at times you could lose your job – I’ve had it several times. It’s really important that we treat managers well. We live in a world of mental health.
So I’m disappointed Graham has lost his job, he’s a really good manager. Sometimes at football clubs it doesn’t work out, I can vouch for that as well. It’s nothing to do with me, it’s to do with the football club. They have to make their decisions.
It’s changed [our preparations] a little bit. We expected Graham to turn up with his team tonight. Nuno has turned up, you never know if he’s had enough days to put the work in. You would expect the players to have a big response from it. Players will take pride in their own work.
