The NBA season is fast approaching, with a handful of teams hosting their annual media day on Monday.

One of the teams doing so is the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks have been disappointing for the past handful of seasons, suffering shortcoming after shortcoming. That only intensified this past offseason with the uncertain future of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee.
The two sides appeared to hash things out this summer with a ton of drama revolving around Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee. However, that may be coming back to the surface after the comments Antetokounmpo made during media day.
Bucks owner Wes Edens spoke on the future of Antetokounmpo and said the two sides had great conversations over the summer.
“I had a great conversation with Giannis in June, and he made it clear that he is committed to Milwaukee and he likes having his family here,” said Edens.
However, it appears Antetokounmpo is not on the same page as ownership. The two-time MVP said he does not recall that conversation.
“I cannot recall that meeting,” said Antetokounmpo.

The nine-time All-Star was at the forefront of the summer as questions about his future in Milwaukee hung in the balance. Multiple times over the past few months, the Bucks’ ownership and Antetokounmpo said that they would do all they could to make things work. That became evident as the season quickly approaches, but these latest comments by Antetokounmpo are certainly eye-opening.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Has Been a Pillar in Milwaukee
The Greek Freak has expressed his desire to play for the Bucks time and time again. He’s spent his entire NBA career in Milwaukee and even brought home the team’s second-ever title in 2021 and first since 1971.
Antetokounmpo has done it all for the Bucks and has panned out a Hall of Fame career as he approaches his 13th season in the league. In his first 12 seasons, Antetokounmpo has nine All-NBA nods, five All-Defensive nods, the 2019-20 Defensive Player of the Year, is an NBA champion, Finals MVP and a member of the 75th NBA Anniversary Team.
Antetokounmpo has done it all in his career, but still, he is chasing that elusive second title. As things stand in Milwaukee, they are far from a title. Their roster is not quite equipped to compete against the top teams in the league, and they have very limited assets to better the roster prior to the trade deadline outside of dealing Antetokounmpo.
All eyes will be on Antetokounmpo and the Bucks as the season progresses. If the Bucks start the season slow, there could be a chance the 30-year-old superstar has a new home in a few months.
