Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Sarkodie has expressed regret to fans who endured difficulties with seating during his Rapperholic Homecoming at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 28.
In an interview with Opemsuo Radio’s Mac De President on Oseikrom Kwanso after the historic show, the rapper admitted that the heavy rains disrupted arrangements and left some attendees unable to reclaim their seats.
He explained that while the turnout and energy from fans exceeded his expectations, he was deeply concerned about the experience of those who paid for tickets but were inconvenienced by the downpour and the resulting disorganisation.
Sarkodie noted that, for him, a successful concert is not only about selling out but also ensuring that every fan gets the full experience they deserve.
“I apologise to those who bought tickets and faced challenges with seating because of the rains,” he said, adding that measures will be put in place to prevent similar problems at future Rapperholic events.
Despite the setback, Sarkodie described the Kumasi edition of Rapperholic as one of the hottest shows he has ever performed, praising the unmatched energy of the crowd and the overwhelming support from the Ashanti Region.
“As far as the turnout and energy are concerned, for me—and not just for Rapperholic, but for all my shows—this particular one was the hottest. The energy was so high that I can’t compare anything to this. However, what I had planned was disrupted. Because of the rain, even my entrance wasn’t according to plan. There was a whole lot we had to do to get the show moving.”
He assured fans that lessons have been learned and that upcoming shows will prioritise both entertainment and comfort for ticket holders.
