Kofi Adams, Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, has revealed that a budget of $1.2 million has been allocated for the Black Stars’ final two matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, set to take place in October.
These crucial fixtures will see Ghana compete against the Central African Republic on foreign soil and host Comoros in their last group stage matches.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Adams detailed the financial breakdown, stating that $733,000 is designated for the away match against the Central African Republic in Casablanca, while $387,000 is allocated for the home game against Comoros in Accra.
“The two-match engagement carries a total estimated cost of $1.2 million, broken down as $733,000 for the away game in Casablanca against Central African Republic and $387,000 for the home game against Comoros in Accra,” he explained.
Adams also clarified that the budget excludes fuel expenses, which will be covered by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Black Stars are scheduled to face the Central African Republic at Stade El Abdi on October 8, followed by their final qualifier against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12.
These matches are pivotal for Ghana’s hopes of securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
