Lola Young cancels DC show after collapsing onstage in Queens

British pop star Lola Young canceled a Washington, D.C. show scheduled for Sunday a day after she collapsed onstage during a concert in Queens.
The “Messy” singer, 24, was mid-performance at the All Things Go Festival in Forest Hills when she fainted and was carried away by support staff. The incident occurred after Young canceled a show at Prudential Center in Newark citing her mental health.
Young was set to appear at the D.C. portion of All Things Go on Sunday but backed out hours before her set.
“I’m sorry to confirm that i won’t be playing all things go in DC today,” the British pop star said in an Instagram post on Sunday. “I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this.”
“Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,” the singer’s manager, Nick Shymansky, wrote on Instagram.
Young was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder several years ago.
“My mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower,” she wrote on Instagram in 2022. “I have crazy f–king highs (mania) and immense lows and even both at the same time.”
