TNSTC inducts low-floor buses in Thanjavur

Five “ultra low entry” buses were inducted in the town service fleet of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam Division, at a cost of ₹4.70 crore on September 19 at the district headquarters town.

The high-tech vehicles will be operated on two routes — between the Ayyasamy Vandaiyar Memorial Bus Stand (Thanjavur Old Bus Stand) and the New Bus Stand on the Thanjavur-Tiruchi Road, and between AVM Bus Stand and Vallam through the Medical College Road. Flagging off the vehicles on Friday, Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan said that while three vehicles would be operated between the two bus stands, the other two would be pressed into service between the AVM Bus Stand and Vallam.
