She entered the Big Brother house to a chorus of boos on ITV2 last night, but where have you seen housemate Emily before?
The 25-year-old from Northampton was one of 12 new cast members revealed on Sunday when the world-famous social experiment returned to screens.
With AJ Odudu and Will Best back as hosts and promising a more ‘mischievous’ Big Brother than ever, fans were hyped for seven weeks of drama to commence.
This year’s batch of housemates includes a farmer named Cameron, influencer Elsa, who can see dead people, butler in the buff Tate and eccentric ‘monkey’ Caroline.
However, it was Emily’s arrival that caused the biggest stir, which even led to viewers voting for her eviction in a shock launch night twist, with one housemate already set to walk out the doors in tonight’s episode.
The political events manager has a strong social media presence and has often been at the centre of debates, which is why you might recognise her.

Who is Emily Hewertson and where is she from?
Political influencer Emily Hewertson boasts over 160,000 followers on X and 24,000 on Instagram, with her accounts currently set to private as a condition of entering the house.
Based in London, she gained online recognition for her unwavering support of the Conservative Party, having been a member of the Tory Party since she was 16.
Emily often attends political events and has posed for photos with Boris Johnson – whom she described in her BB VT as a ‘teddy bear’.
What’s more, she’s been on GB News as a panellist, made podcast appearances, and, according to sources, ‘mixes in high-flying political circles’, leaving people ‘terrified’ about what she might reveal on national television.

Explaining that Emily is ‘friendly with a lot of the top Tories’, an insider added to The Sun: ‘She knows everyone and everything and always keeps her ears to the ground when it comes to scandalous rumours.
‘After seeing her walk into the Big Brother house—the most indiscreet building outside of Parliament—MPs and staffers are likely to be concerned.
‘There’s chatter that they’re worried she’ll get drunk and start blabbing about lots of gossip and secrets they don’t want made public.’
However, they added that the self-declared ‘patriotic princess’ is ‘fiercely loyal and knows when to keep her mouth shut’.
Is she friends with Nigel Farage?
Emily has been seen out with Reform leader Nigel Farage several times.

In fact, she was once thought to be the girl who threw a milkshake over Farage in the street and spent a considerable amount of time denying it, given that she has a high opinion of him.
Emily once debated joining Reform, but ultimately decided to stick with the Conservatives.
What are Emily’s political views?
When it comes to political discussions, Emily certainly isn’t backwards in coming forward.
The very first ‘Tory influencer’ has publicly backed Brexit and said in December last year that she would ‘100% still vote for’ it.
She has also been involved with the UK division of Turning Point US, which the recently assassinated Charlie Kirk founded.
Emily acknowledges that young people are often put off by the Tories, believing them to be wrongly labelled as ‘far-right’. As such, she wants to tackle ‘misinformation’ online.

Already branded the ‘villain’ of BB 2025, Emily made it clear where she stands when she introduced herself to viewers.
‘I work for a political events company in Westminster, and I joined the Conservative Party when I was 16,’ she explained in her introductory video.
She added that she has ‘been for Christmas drinks at Johnson’s house’.

The internet personality further said in a Q&A with ITV: ‘People are often surprised that I’m into politics because maybe I don’t fit the normal stereotype.’
She also vowed to use the assumptions people might have of her to her advantage.
‘I haven’t really thought about a strategy, although I do think people look at me and think I’m very ditzy because I’ve got blonde hair and fake nails,’ she admitted.

‘So, I think that could definitely play to my advantage, because they better watch out! I’m actually a lot cleverer.’
Emily is also keen to find herself a lover in the Big Brother house, which has happened on more than one occasion in the last 25 years of the programme.
‘I’m probably more single than I’ve ever been,’ she declared.
Emily added that anyone who won’t date a Tory is ‘missing out’.‘I am absolutely gagging for a husband.’
How have viewers reacted to Emily joining the house?
Given that viewers voted for Emily to enter the Exit Room on night 1, along with Sam and Caroline, putting her at risk of eviction already, it’s safe to say the general opinion of her isn’t high.
Taking to socials after her debut, viewers raged that she was cast, with @folkloreilidh writing that ‘the last thing’ we need to do it give her an ‘even bigger platform’.
‘AINT NO WAY EMILY HEWERTSON IS ON BIG BROTHER? ITV let a Charlie Kirk supporting Turning Point activist on, but didn’t let Ali Bromley wear a palestine necklace’, @jcesc0508 raged, after last year’s winner was censored for a watermelon T-shirt.
Others even complained to Ofcom about Emily’s controversial casting.
Watch Big Brother Sunday-Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
