In a modest one-bedroom flat in Gujarat’s Kochrab, Paldi, where an air-conditioner repairman’s family of four managed on Rs 25,000 a month, education became the only weapon Razin Mansuri could wield against financial struggle.Today, five months into his corporate career in Delhi with a multinational conglomerate, the 24-year-old looks back on a journey defined by discipline and resilience, The Times of India reported.Razin first cracked the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2021 with a 96.2 percentile score, securing a seat at IIM-Udaipur. But he decided to aim higher. A year later, he scored 99.78 percentile, earning offers from IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Calcutta. He chose the latter, financing the Rs 27 lakh course partly through institute assistance and loans. “Landing a spot at and graduating from IIM-Calcutta validated all my hard work,” he told ToI.At IIM-C, Razin immersed himself beyond coursework, serving as a placement representative. “You learn as much, if not more, from your peers than the professors. I met incredible people and discovered several great opportunities. Being on the placement team was a unique learning experience,” he said. His story of cracking CAT twice went viral, inspiring aspirants nationwide. “Many students, including even my father’s clients, reached out for advice. Following their journeys and guiding them has been a great privilege,” Razin said, adding that many of those connections remain strong.Live EventsHis parents were overjoyed when he was admitted to an IIM. “Seeing the joy on their faces was incredibly fulfilling. When someone in the family does an MBA, the whole family feels like they are part of it,” he shared. Now, his younger brother Rehan wants to follow the same path. “For me, exposure to opportunities still came late, but Rehan has clarity early on. I’m sure he will go far,” Razin said. From growing up in a modest apartment to interacting with India’s top business leaders, Razin’s story tells how talent can triumph over circumstance. With inputs from TOIAdd as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
