Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk provided a fitness update on Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray are working hard to get Victor Osimhen fit for the Champions League clash against Liverpool, with the head coach Okan Buruk heavily hinting that he could be available for the clash.

What Buruk said

As Pulse Sports reported, the striker made a return to action for the first time since the international break in the last five minutes of the 1-0 triumph over Antalyaspor a few days ago.

The Cim-Bom are set to play an intense fixture against Liverpool in the UCL this midweek, and the clash might be too deep an end to thrust Osimhen into, given his fitness levels.

However, Okan Buruk confirmed that he has been training adequately ahead of the match, and a late fitness test would determine whether he is able to participate to any degree.

“Victor continued training. We will see how he was in the last training session today,” Buruk said, per Turkish Football. “It is positive that he played 10 minutes in the last match and continued training. We will look at his condition today and make a decision.”

Nature of Osimhen’s injury

The Nigeria international sustained an injury during Super Eagles duty. He suffered a moderate strain in his ankle ligaments, which has since kept him out of action.
