ANN ARBOR, MI – Incident data shows fans who attended the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history Saturday were extremely well-behaved.
Of the more than 112,000 people attending the Zach Bryan and John Mayer concert at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 27, only two attendees were arrested and 18 were ejected from the stadium, according to the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security
Concert promoter AEG Presents and university senior associate athletic director David Ablauf confirmed 112,408 fans attended the seven-hour, five-act show, making it the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history.
Both arrests involved individuals being drunk and disorderly, said University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security Deputy Police Chief Melissa Overton.
Of the ejections, 12 were for disorderly conduct, four for fighting and two were for other unspecified violations, Overton said.
Overton added there were also only two citations issued during the event, both traffic-related in which no alcohol was involved, she said.
There were no major incidents outside the stadium before, during and after the event either, Ann Arbor Police Department Spokesperson Chris Page said.
Medics with Huron Valley ambulance responded to 121 incidents at the stadium, with the bulk of them being minor treatment at the aid station, Emergent Health Spokesperson Marc Breckenridge said.
Fourteen patients were taken to the hospital, six due to intoxication while the rest were for minor first aid and over the counter medicine requests, he said.
The event was the first-ever major ticketed concert at the Big House, home to the Wolverines college football team and the largest stadium in the U.S. and the third largest in the world.
Saturday’s show reportedly sold out in less than 2.5 hours when tickets went on sale in February.
It broke the previous U.S. concert record set by country musician George Strait, who played for 110,905 at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in 2024.
Bryan, the 29-year-old country musician from Oklahoma, and opener John Mayer, the 47-year-old singer-songwriter from Connecticut, were at the top of the bill for the event.
Other opening acts included Keenan O’Meara, Joshua Slone, and Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen.
