A Bangor mental health clinic is relocating to Brewer.
Penobscot Community Health Care recently announced its Mental Health Access Center in Capehart will be making the move this fall and be renamed to the PCHC Behavioral Health Connection.
The center has been operating out of a building in the Capehart Community Health Center in Bangor for the last three years. However, PCHC’s lease is up, and the building will be repurposed by the Bangor Housing Authority, according to the provider.
PCHC claims the move will help the organization to consolidate its locations and reduce costs, which the organization said will lead to great efficiency and better patient care.
“PCHC Behavioral Health Connection is about more than a space move, it’s about ensuring excellent stewardship of our limited financial resources while maintaining timely access to high quality, integrated care,” said Lori Dwyer, president and CEO of PCHC. “We are continually looking for new and better ways to deliver care, and this move is yet another improvement on the patient experience that also has the corollary benefit of contributing to sustainability.”
PCHC said its Behavioral Health Connection will “continue to provide quick access to behavioral health services, including counseling, medication management, and referrals for other behavioral health needs. “
According to the provider, the center’s move to a newly renovated space at Brewer Medical Center will be completed by Nov. 1.
According to PCHC, patients can continue to use the same self-referral line for counseling: 207-404-8100 ext. 2817.
