Where to buy a coffee in Baton Rouge, LA: Reve, French Truck

For coffee drinkers, caffeine is a daily necessity. Whether you brew it at home or buy it in bulk, a trip to a local coffee shop is always a treat.
Here’s where we like to enjoy coffee around Baton Rouge, for National Coffee Day (Sept. 29) or any day.
Timothy Boone
French Truck, 2978 Government Street: When it’s cool, I get a large dark roast, black. When it’s hot, I get a large Oji drip. They have these really cool glass drippers from Japan that slow brew coffee – I think it takes 24 hours to brew a pot.
Ianne Salvosa
Brew Ha-Ha, 711 Jefferson Highway: I get a banana breeze latte, basically a bananas foster latte.
Hilary Scheinuk
French truck, 2978 Government Street: I take (my dog) Annie on Sundays as an outing for her, especially during the summer when it’s too hot to walk her a lot.
Quinn Coffman
Spanish Town Market Cofé, 701 Spanish Town Road: I’m loyal to Spanish Town Market and Cofé. There wasn’t any business in that spot for most of my first year in Baton Rouge, which was a shame. But besides the convenience (and close, neighborhood feeling), I always enjoy their rendition of an iced vanilla latte. Perfect for reading The Advocate on their patio.
Haley Miller
Red Stick Reads, 3829 Government Street: Loving an iced spiced brown sugar latte from Red Stick Reads on Government Street these days! You get your caffeine fix and support a local bookstore at the same time.
Joy Holden
Rêve, 8211 Village Plaza Court: Favorite place is Rêve. I don’t drink coffee, but my drink is the crimson fog, a tea latte.
