Aldi looking to recruit staff for new Baillieston store

Monklands jobseekers are invited to check out Aldi’s recruitment of new colleagues in Baillieston as a result of its continued expansion in the area. In a welcome boost to the local economy, the UK’s fourth largest supermarket is currently on the hunt for 16 colleagues for a new store in Baillieston. As locals eagerly await the new store opening, Aldi is looking to build a new team of 14 store assistants and two cleaners. The UK’s highest-paying supermarket is keen to offer the community stable career opportunities, while providing access to great quality, fresh, affordable food. Aldi will become the first supermarket to pay store assistants at least £13.02 an hour. This new minimum rate came into effect from September and further exceeds the Real Living Wage of £12.60 an hour that was set by the Living Wage Foundation in October last year. Based on the length of service, store assistants’ pay will rise further to £13.93 nationally. Aldi is also the only supermarket to offer all colleagues paid breaks, which on average is worth an extra £1425 a year for the average store colleague. Kelly Stokes, HR director at Aldi UK, said: “We are really excited about creating even more jobs in Baillieston. “Aldi’s increased popularity and customer demand for quality products allows us to create more employment opportunities in stores across the region. “We are committed to creating rewarding careers, offering a great working environment and real opportunity to progress within the business. “Colleagues that thrive at Aldi have a can-do attitude, determination and buckets of ambition.” Anyone interested in applying for a career with Aldi can visit https://www.aldirecruitment.co.uk/roles/stores *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
