Tamale, Sept. 29, GNA – The Northern Region branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has congratulated the University for Development Studies (UDS) for emerging winners of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Universities Football Games in China.
A statement issued in Tamale, and signed by the Regional Chairman, Mr Yakubu Abdul – Majeed, described the victory as historic and a true reflection of the university’s mandate to pursue excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities.
The GJA said “Your historic victory exemplifies the purpose of establishing the university showcasing excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities. We are immensely proud of your remarkable achievement and encourage you to continue striving for excellence.”
It commended the Vice-Chancellor, management, staff, students, and the entire university community for bringing honour to Ghana, the Northern Region, and Dagbon through the victory.
The statement urged the media to highlight the achievement and the lessons it carries for the country’s sporting activities, education, and youth development.
