The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) announced it’s time for the NW 22nd Avenue bridge to get a facelift. Starting Sunday, essential repair work on the Miami River will force drivers to take alternate routes during late-night hours. According to a recent release, these repairs will happen during the less-trafficked hours from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, and are scheduled to last until the calendar bids farewell to the year.
Nighttime lane closures on the Miami River will affect late-night commuters. Traffic will be detoured onto NW 27th Avenue, with signs and cones guiding drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) urges all road users to follow these signs to navigate the temporary changes safely, as detailed by the county’s official website.
Drivers can stay updated on closures and travel tips through DTPW’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. For those who like to plan ahead, DTPW also offers a monthly newsletter through Mobility 305, providing updates on roadwork, special events, and other useful information for navigating Miami.
