Tucked away inside Belton’s Bore is a struggling artist called Wrenching Allen. This gentleman is trying to build a chair as part of the side quest, The Importance of Being Furnished. But between a missing assembly instructions, art critics, and missing pieces, he can’t quite nail his greatest artwork. Go and help him, and then decide whether to sell or destroy the chair.
The Importance of Being Furnished
The Importance of Being Furnished is a side quest you can pick up inside Belton’s Bore, the home of the Auger people. Finish the main story mission, Shadow of the Mountain, to gain access to Wrenching Allen, the giver of the quest (and the struggling artist).
Find the assembly instructions
Finding the assembly instructions is the first step in the quest chain. He’ll have you search three locations to try and find his manual:
Search the trash
Follow the waypoint to the opposite side of the cavern. Near the Golden Key chest will be some tables and chairs and trash cans. Open the garbage and Wrenching Allen will tell you to search the laundry.
Search the laundry
Head west of the trash cans to find some washing machines up some stairs. Pop them open to move to the next part – searching the grill.
Search grill
The grill is northeast of Belton’s Bore, a bit down the mountainside. Open the two grills to discover that, yet again, the instructions are not here.
Kill art critics
With no instructions to be found, you’ll have a new objective: kill art critics. They spawn from the cave above the grills. Once the Rhokia and the other critics have received a taste of their own medicine, help Wrenching Allen by finding some chair pieces.
Find chair pieces
The chair pieces are back at Belton’s Bore. The first two are outside of the cavern and the last three are all inside.
The first piece is on the right side of the door, leading in to Belton’s Bore (before the bridge).
The second piece is immediately after crossing the bridge into the tunnel, but before you enter the main cavern of Belton’s Bore.
The third piece is beside the Belton’s Bore fast travel station.
The fourth piece is on the north side of the cavern, below the Golden Key chest.
The last piece is up the stairs to the right of the Golden Key chest.
Build chair
With Wrenching Allen’s chair pieces in hand, return to the artist and help him build the chair.
Sell or Kill the chair?
After you make the chair, Wrenching Allen will ask you to sell it to him or “better yet, destroy it!” You’ve now got a choice on your hands: sell or kill the chair. Selling the chair gives you slightly more cash. That’s the only difference. I smashed the chair to pieces and Allen seemed to enjoy that.
The Importance of Being Furnished is a short side quest that can be a challenge if you can’t spot those pesky chair pieces. Whether you sell or destroy the chair doesn’t matter too much, but Wrenching Allen will mention your decision.
