The Pad Man actor and producer felt that both parties need to benefit, including the OTT platforms, in order to promote the films. Akshay Kumar supports three-month window for OTT release In an interview with APB Live, Akshay felt that extending the digital release window would not be fair. He shared, “According to me, a three-month gap is okay. Six months is too long because at the end of the day, the OTT platform is paying you for the digital rights. They also need to benefit from the deal.” The actor also pointed out pre-pandemic times when both theatres and streaming services did well. Akshay added, “When it comes to digital rights sale, producers happily take money from the OTT platform. But when we want to, we also conveniently say our films aren’t working because of OTT. We don’t consider that maybe we’re not making the right films.” ALSO READ: Sitaare Zameen Par: Why Is Aamir Khan Against OTT Release And How Does It Benefit Film Industry?
