After making the blockbuster trade to acquire superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons just before the 2025 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers’ defense has been electrifying through the first two weeks of the year.Not only are the Packers 2-0 after defeating both the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, the defense is on a historical pace.In fact, the Green Bay defense has made NFL history through the first two weeks of the season.Read more: Vikings Legend Unleashes Outlandish Packers’ PredictionAccording to OptaSTATS on X, the Packers are the first team in league history in the Super Bowl era to record four or more sacks, allow 60 rushing yards or less, and allow 200 net passing yards or less in the first two games of a season.What makes that record even more impressive is the fact that Parsons has been playing in a limited role. He has been on a snap count as he recovers from an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back.Through the first two games, Parsons hasn’t come close to playing a full workload. He’s hoping that will change soon.On the outside looking in, Green Bay has a defense that could end up being the best in the NFL. Outside of Parsons, the Packers have great pass rushers in Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness. They have an elite linebacker with Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper in the middle of the defense.Entering the season, there were concerns about Green Bay’s secondary. However, with the pass rush putting so much pressure on opposing quarterbacks, things have been looking just fine.Jeff Hafley is in his second season as the Packers’ defensive coordinator. If the Packers can continue that level of defensive play, they’re going to be a top-tier Super Bowl contender.Only time will tell, but these numbers show why Green Bay has gotten off to such a hot start.
