Kimmel suspension highlights Trump’s growing power over U.S. media landscape

The Trump coup is now attempting to gain control of journalism in the United States. First, corporate media is being taken over by just a few companies. You may think that your local stations are independent, by they probably aren’t. They are probably owned by Sinclair or Nextstar. Almost all of American media, print, or video is owned by six corporations, and they see that journalists and commentators are no longer free to report the facts. As we saw with Jimmy Kimmel and other television evening hosts, In the United States, we are seeing just what we see in Russia, Hungary, and Turkey. Fascist governments that appear to permit media, just as they still hold elections, but in both instances, it is an illusion. The corrupt authoritarians who control the country only allow a subservient media, and rigged elections. Trump has essentially destroyed the First Amendment of the Constitution.
