Dying Light: The Beast wouldn’t be an open-world game with loot mechanics if there weren’t powerful hidden gear to find. One of the best and easiest to get your hands on is The Elite, a Legendary Pistol you can score shortly after entering the open world for the first time. Here’s how to get it.
Where to find The Elite Legendary Pistol early in Dying Light: The Beast
The Legendary Pistol called The Elite sits in a locked military convoy on a bridge west of the Monastery Safe Zone, which you unlock at the beginning of the game. If you head to the western edge of the hill where the Monastery sits, you should easily be able to see the bridge and the derelict traincars where you’ll find the weapon.
Once on the bridge, you’ll need to deal with some infected, then link a power cable from an open traincar on the bridge’s western end to a bunker car on the eastern side.
Start by turning on the generator by interacting with the green button, then grab the cable to the generator’s right. Drag it straight east to the locked bunker car.
You’ll need to pick the lock, but once the door is open, you can connect the cable to the power coupling inside.
To reach The Elite, you’ll also need a keycard to open the locked room. Kill any of the zombies in military gear and loot them for the keycard, then return to the card reader inside the bunker car.
You’ll find The Elite sitting on a shelf directly to your right as you enter the keycard room, along with some ammo. There’s also a bottle of Old World Wine to the left, a Legendary Valuable worth a pretty penny, and some other valuable items strewn about.
Interestingly, in my game, I was able to return to these train cars and pick up a second, higher-level version of The Elite when loot repopulated. I’d recommend checking the weapon spawn periodically to save yourself the upgrade materials you’d otherwise need to spend to keep The Elite at your level.
