Gemma Atkinson has revealed a major development regarding her upcoming nuptials to Strictly Come Dancing ‘s Gorka Marquez. Gemma and Gorka got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2021, following the start of their romance in 2017, when they first encountered each other during the Strictly tour. The couple became parents to daughter Mia in 2019, followed by son Thiago in 2023, yet despite their four-year engagement, they haven’t felt pressured to rush down the aisle. Whilst Gemma had previously expressed reluctance due to her late father not being able to escort her down the aisle , it appears wedding bells may chime sooner rather than later. In an exclusive conversation with Express.co.uk , Gemma disclosed that she and Gorka had been deliberating their wedding plans. She said: “We’ve toyed about doing it in Spain, so his family can come, and we’ve even thought about doing it in a registry office or a hotel in Manchester, just the two of us, and then have a big party after. “But I think now we want to wait until Thiago is a bit older, so maybe next year or the year after, as he’s only two. If he’s a bit older, he could be involved in it, which would be really nice.” Gemma also shared that she is undergoing assessment for perimenopause, the natural phase a woman encounters prior to experiencing menopause. She said: “In terms of children, I’m fine with it because I always wanted two, I never wanted more, and we’ve been lucky enough to have a boy and a girl. “I’m actually having what they call a Dutch test after listening to a podcast, and it will let you know whether you are perimenopausal or not. “I’ve not had any symptoms yet, I still feel okay, but realistically, I’m 41 this year, and there will be changes coming.” Gemma is launching a fresh skincare line for her collection Gem + Tonic, which includes a face cream, hair mist and a moisturiser.
