Odell Beckham Jr Calls Out NFL After Malik Nabers Injury

Odell Beckham Jr. knows all about playing at MetLife Stadium, as he starred there for the New York Giants from 2014-2018.The only season he didn’t have at least 77 catches, 1,052 yards and six touchdowns was in 2017, when his season was cut short due to a fractured achilles he suffered at MetLife Stadium. So, when Giants superstar receiver Malik Nabers tore his ACL on Sunday, Beckham voiced his opinion on social media. He posted on X calling for the NFL to get rid of turf.Dear NFL, I mean this with the upmost love and respect,” Beckham posted on X. “We (The NFL) take all The precautions in the world with EVERYthing else when it comes to players “health” and “safety”. PLZ. PLZ. PLZ. GET RID OF THE 🤬 TURF. Thank You in advance. LUV.He continued to give his take on twitter, saying the field at MetLife has been a part of too many injuries.”Respect and u kno I loveeeee the giants , but DeathLife has taken too many talented players away from the game,” Beckham posted. “I kno it’s not ALL the turfs fault but at least maybe it to where we’ve gotten all research done to if TURF has to stay it’s at the HIGHEST of quality possible. At least can we start the discussion.”Since Beckham’s injury in 2017, there have been a ton of both Giants’ players, as well as other players in the NFL who have suffered season ending injuries. That list includes star players like Nick Bosa, Wan’Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepared, Aaron Rodgers and now Nabers among many others. The topic of turf and grass has been going on for quite some time. The players are big on wanting to play on grass, while the owners are more interested in the turf. The biggest reason why turf is so popular is because it is cheaper, as well as easier to manage and maintain. Of the 32 teams in the league, 17 of them have turf while the other 15 have natural grass. Some of those have of a combination of both, but MetLife Stadium is hard of playing surface as there is in the league.Every time a player gets hurt, many players and fans across the league start calling on the NFL to make changes. However, the league has never made it a pressing issue and it has never come close to making owners switching to grass.Beckham isn’t some fan who doesn’t truly understand how the surface can impact a player. He is a player who was on a path to being one of the truly all-time greats at the position, and he was never able to get back to the player he was before that injury in 2017.
