Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has on Sunday formally kicked off the construction works of the Bharat Future City, a Greenfield metropolis, coming up at Kandukur in Rangareddy district near Hyderabad.
The upcoming city has been the flagship project of the Congress government led by Reddy and will be the fourth in the historical development of the State Capital. The historic Hyderabad was expanded first with Secunderabad in the Nizam period followed by the Cyberabad (Hitech city) over two decades ago.
“The Bharat Future City will be a destination for investments and a world of opportunities and a hub of the world’s Fortune 500 companies in 10 years, Reddy said after laying the foundation stones for building of Future City Development Authority (FCDA) and a radial road.
The city would house dedicated Innovation hubs for AI, Life Sciences, FinTech, and Smart Technologies, making it a global destination for research, business and technology-driven industries.
The upcoming city would have an underground power line network and would be developed as a Net-Zero city, aimed at achieving zero emissions, energy neutrality, and sustainable waste management.
“The authority will start functioning and discharging duties from this building three times a month. All the prospective investors will also be invited to the FCDA office for talks, according to Reddy. The Future City Development Building and Skill University works will be completed in December, 2026.
As Telangana is a landlocked State, the government is ready to build a Dry Port connecting the greenfield highway between Machllipatnam and Future City, he said. “The union government has also agreed to develop a bullet train network from Future City to Amaravati,” the Chief Minister said.
The first industrial land allocation would go to Singareni Collieries which would be given 10 acres of land for its new corporate office.
