The two engaged in multiple feuds and friendship storylines, including matches to decide the WWE Divas Championship.Saraya, as Paige, worked with WWE for over 10 years, including stints as a general manager and ringside valet for tag teams. She retired from WWE after being medically determined unable to compete. She eventually received clearance from outside doctors, allowing her to work with AEW under her first name, Saraya, for three years. In March, Saraya announced her retirement from AEW, which included several feuds and a run with the AEW Women’s World Championship. She recently appeared as a guest on the Busted Open Podcast to talk to host Dave LaGreca and WWE’s Natalya Neidhart, who brought up AJ Lee’s return.Saraya mentioned she’d always have a desire to be around her “sisters” and participate in what’s going on with WWE, including her “baby” AJ returning. She said she watched a video of AJ’s return to WWE, over and over again. Saraya indicated her social media has also “blown up” with “hundreds of thousands of people” asking for her to “bring Paige back.”Speaking about potentially returning to WWE, she mentioned having some self-doubt about it before.”I feel like people don’t like me anymore. It sounds pretty, you know, insecure, and I’m not trying to get sympathy, but it made me really emotional for the past couple of days,” she said, adding she shed some tears over realizing people still want her to return.LaGreca suggested Saraya shouldn’t care what the online critics say or let it affect her so heavily. She said she’d “love to be [AJ’s] tag team partner again” or “run it back eventually.” However, she mentioned AJ needs “her moment” as this is a special return for her.”Maybe one day. We’ll see,” she said, leaving the door open for that huge possibility.Read more: WWE Adds Huge Matches to Wrestlepalooza CardFor more on WWE and professional wrestling, visit Newsweek Sports.
