What to watch after streaming Netflix’s “Black Rabbit”

Chaotic Netflix crime thriller “Black Rabbit” is the streaming service’s latest hit original. The series throws us in with two brothers: one (Jake, played by Jude Law) is the owner of the titular promising restaurant and VIP lounger, and the other (Jason Bateman’s Vince) is a chaotic figure who crashes back into his life — bringing fresh trouble along with him.

Set against the backdrop of New York City’s high-pressure nightlife scene, this dark thriller follows Vince and Jake as they’re pushed to the brink both by their duty and their pursuit of success. That relationship is the backbone of the show, and seeing them confront all the dangers that come their way makes for compelling viewing, for sure.
Judging by the viewing figures, Netflix subscribers are hooked, too. In the days since its release on September 18, it’s been one of the most popular shows on the service (and peaked at the No. 1 spot in Netflix’s top 10 list not long after it debuted). If you’ve already binge-watched the entire season and you’re on the hunt for shows with a similar vibe, here are five more shows like “Black Rabbit” and where you can stream them right now.

Best shows like ‘Black Rabbit’ and where to watch them
‘Animal Kingdom’

Animal Kingdom: Season 1 Preview | TNT – YouTube

I’ll kick this list off with a series that Netflix itself lists as a recommendation for “Black Rabbit” fans under the new show’s “More Like This” section: TNT’s “Animal Kingdom.”

This family crime drama ran for six seasons between 2016 and 2022 and follows the Cody family. After his mother passes away, 17-year-old “J” Cody (Finn Cole) moves in with his estranged relatives in Oceanside, California, where the Codys operate a criminal enterprise overseen by the formidable matriarch, Janine “Smurf” Cody (Ellen Burkin).
The show came to Netflix back in June and became a top 10 show upon its arrival. And if you’re looking for a show to really get drawn into after “Black Rabbit’s” eight-episode run, “Animal Kingdom” will keep you busy for some time: you’ve got 75 episodes of the Codys’ antics to get through here.

‘Gangs of London’

Gangs of London Season 1 Trailer | Rotten Tomatoes TV – YouTube

I’d never pass up an opportunity to shout about “Gangs of London,” and if you’re looking for another modern crime drama, this is my personal top pick. That recommendation comes with one big caveat, though: If you don’t have a stomach for ultra-violence, you’ll want to check something else out on this list, as “Gangs of London” does not hold back.
Created by “The Raid’s” Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, the series revolves, unsurprisingly, around the power struggle between the rival gangs and organizations that each own a slice of London’s criminal underworld. When the figurehead of the powerful Wallace dynasty, Finn Wallace, is assassinated and his son Sean (Joe Cole) takes over, that side of London descends into chaos, and violence ensues.

MobLand | Official Trailer | Paramount+ – YouTube

If you’re looking for another recent release, now seems a good time to mention Paramount Plus’ recent hit, “MobLand,” a crime series that premiered back in March and became the streamer’s second-most-watched series to date (behind “Landman”), and it got the stamp of approval from TG’s Malcolm McMillan earlier this year (see his “MobLand” season 1 finale reaction here).
This star-studded Guy Ritchie-produced crime drama comes from “The Day of the Jackal” creator Ronan Bennett, and depicts a clash between two crime families, with Harrigan family “fixer” Harry De Souza (Tom Hardy) caught up in the mix and navigating the escalating conflict at the behest of his employers.

Ozark | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix – YouTube

Popular Netflix crime drama “Ozark” seems like a logical recommendation here, as it also stars Jason Bateman in another sticky situation. The series originally ran for four seasons from 2017 to 2022 and follows married couple Marty and Wendy Byrde (Jason Bateman and Laura Linney) and their family from Chicago out to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
The Byrdes are a seemingly normal family … save for the fact that Marty is the top money launderer for the second-largest drug cartel in Mexico, and after a scheme goes wrong, he offers to set up a new, bigger operation. It excels thanks to great performances from Bateman and Linney, a pervasive sense of tension, and a compelling storyline, and offers four seasons’ worth of intense drama.

The Bear Season 1 Trailer | Rotten Tomatoes TV – YouTube

If you want to get caught up in all the chaos of another intense workplace or follow the misadventures of the people keeping that place running, you should check out Hulu’s awards darling, “The Bear.”
If you’re yet to check out the FX’s critically acclaimed comedy/drama, the series revolves around Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), an award-winning high-end chef who heads back home to take over his late brother’s sandwich shop in Chicago… and subsequently sets out to turn it into a fine dining restaurant.
His pursuit of excellence sees Carmy pushing himself and everyone else in the building to the limit. It’s a captivating portrait of the pressures of the restaurant business, and the relationships between Carmy and his team are every bit as intense as Vince and Jake.

When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
