Police have searched a Hollywood Hills home connected to singer D4vd overnight on Wednesday, after a teenage girl’s body was discovered in a Tesla registered to him, according to ABC News.Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, had been staying at the house but does not own it.Authorities identified the victim as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was reported missing last year.Newsweek contacted the Los Angeles Police Department via email on Friday outside of regular working hours.Why It MattersRivas, from Lake Elsinore in California, went missing on 5 April 2024 at the age of 13, around 17 months before her body was found.The discovery of her remains in a vehicle registered to D4vd has generated widespread attention.The 20-year-old singer has over 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 3.7 million followers on TikTok and released his debut album earlier this year. He was on tour when the body was found.What To KnowDuring the search of the home linked to D4vd overnight on Wednesday, LAPD detectives were seen taking a computer and other items from the home, as per ABC.”Several items of evidence were recovered and will be analyzed by detectives in the coming days,” LAPD said in a statement to ABC News.” This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are following up on several leads.”The decomposing body was found on September 8 in singer D4vd’s Tesla, which had been impounded at a Los Angeles tow yard after being left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.Police were alerted of a foul odor coming from the vehicle, and the remains were later identified as Rivas through forensics.The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said she had been dead for “a long time” and the cause of death has not yet been determined.What People Are SayingA spokesperson for D4vd told NBC on Tuesday: “D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to NBC earlier this week: “At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time.”What Happens NextThe investigation into Rivas’ death is ongoing. It is not currently being treated as a homicide as the cause of death has not yet been determined.
