Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills were able to come through with a 31-19 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 4 NFL action. It wasn’t a pretty win, but it was a win nonetheless.
Following the win over the Saints, the Bills now hold a 4-0 record. They look the part of a Super Bowl contender, but there are still some issues that need to be figured out. That much was made clear against the Saints.
Buffalo has been playing at a very high level through the first month of the season. However, New Orleans is not a very good football team and the Bills did not make that win look convincing.

With that being said, the superstar quarterback himself spoke out and didn’t hold back about his team’s ugly performance against the Saints. He’s clearly taking it very seriously even though his team was able to pull out the win.

As shared by Matthew Bove of 7 News WKBW, Allen was clearly not pleased with Buffalo’s performance.
“Josh Allen said the Bills didn’t do themselves any favors today,” Bove wrote on X. “Too many plays that put them behind the sticks, bad penalties, and his interception.”
Throughout the course of the game, Allen completed 16 of his 22 pass attempts for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He also ran for 45 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. James Cook led the way on the ground with 117 yards and a score on 22 carries, averaging 5.3 yards per attempt.
Defensively, the Bills didn’t play horrible but they weren’t sharp. They only gave up 19 points, but there were areas that could have been improved.

While there are reasons to be unhappy with the performance, each win in the NFL is hard to get. Buffalo was expected to handle the Saints much better than the team did on the field, but that happens. A 4-0 record is something to be proud of at this point in the season.
Thankfully, with Allen’s comments being made, it’s clear that the Bills aren’t happy with good enough. They want to continue improving and this ugly win could end up being a very important lesson for the team.
