Eagles Star Cooper DeJean May Face Punishment From NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to pull off a hard-fought win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 to improve to 4-0 on the season. When all was said and done, the final score of the game ended up being 31-23.

During the game in the first quarter, DeJean was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty for taunting. After making a tackle, he stood over Buccaneers running back Rachaad White and stared down at him before stepping over him. That action might cost him some money.

So far this season, the NFL has had a clear focal point on trying to eliminate unsportsmanlike penalties. They have been fining players left and right for their actions during games. DeJean will likely receive a fine himself.
DeJean put together a strong performance against Tampa Bay. He recorded nine total tackles to go along with two defended passes.
On the season coming into the matchup against the Buccaneers, the Eagles’ star defensive back has put up great numbers. In the first three games of the year, DeJean recorded 22 tackles and a defended pass. He has remained a very consistent player in the Philadelphia secondary.
It will be interesting to see what the NFL chooses to do with DeJean. More than likely, a fine will be heading his way this week. The NFL isn’t messing around with these kinds of actions during games.

After that game, it will be a short turnaround for the Eagles, who will then play on the road against the NFC East rival New York Giants on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
