Furious Tottenham stars make their feelings clear following Wolves draw

Tottenham Hotspur stars were clearly unhappy with the referee after Wolves stalemate
Tottenham Hotspur started the Premier League season quite brightly under new head coach Thomas Frank. But the early season momentum at Hotspur Way took another hit on Saturday night. The Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw against bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It looked like a game which Tottenham can easily blaze through (at least on paper, given how Wolves were playing along the 2025/26 season). But it took an injury-time goal from Joao Palhinha for the Lilywhites to come through with a point. And this has left a bitter taste among the supporters who are understandably furious about this underwhelming performance.

And after the full-time, the frustration from the players ended up spilling over. If we carefully look at the footage from Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, it shows how the Lilywhites trio of Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven, and Guglielmo Vicario, alongsidethe North Londoners’ goalscorer Palhinha, were all surrounding the referee, Michael Salisbury. They were making their feelings known, and Tottenham supporters echoed that shot with quite loud boos. This says a lot about the mood at Hotspur Way after the game.
We saw how Vitor Pereira coached his side into sitting deep. They came to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and absorbed a lot of pressure in that first half. They ended up frustrating this Tottenham side with ease. We saw the Lilywhites having the majority of the ball, but every time they tried going goalwards, they ended up running into that defensive block and doing so without any leakages. This made it quite difficult for Tottenham to find chances.
Many would argue that the Lilywhites didn’t have the likes of Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and James Maddison. But then Tottenham do have a deep attacking line. If we talk about yesterday, all three of Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, and Richarlison started the game.
It was a visibly frustrating result, with Palhinha claiming it as a “sad draw” in his post-game reflections.
But Tottenham don’t have a long time to feel sorry for themselves. They need to brush this result off starting Tuesday as they travel to Norway as they face Bodø/Glimt up in the Champions League.
