Lichfield Lions have held their annual golf day at Whittington Heath Golf Club to raise funds for St Giles Hospice for a number of years. This year the golf day raised over £10,000 for St Giles and next year we hope to pass the £200,000 donated to the hospice since the first Lions Golf Day, 20 years ago.

But none of this would be possible without our partners Whittington Heath Golf Club and their generous members. How many golf clubs would give up use of their course, club house and all their facilities for a day to support a local charity? A number of their members enter teams on the day, paying to play on their own golf course!

We would also like to thank the local businesses who sponsor holes or provide raffle prizes that help raise funds for such a worthy cause.

We all get old, while both young and elderly get terminal illnesses. We never know when family members may need St Giles Hospice care. We are lucky to have them, but they only exist because of the money raised to support them. If you see someone raising money for St Giles, please give whatever you can afford.
