The youth wing of the Labour Party (LP) Edo State chapter, on Sunday, September 28, said that it cannot fold its hands and watch the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure, being assaulted by any individual but would take the necessary steps to address it.
The Edo State youth leader of the party, Comrade Ken Omusi, said this while reacting to the alleged assault meted on the party’s national chairman, Abure, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja and the Benin Airport, respectively, by one Precious Oruche, alias ‘Mama P’, a content creator.
Omusi said the national chairman of the party has not held any political positions that has given him the privilege to direct the affairs of the country, therefore, Oruche is wrong to have accused him of being the problem of the country.
“Barr. Julius Abure is a private citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has not been in any political offices like from councilorship down to the local government chairman, to House of Representatives, Senate, governor or presidency so he cannot be accused by an individual for being the reason Nigeria is backward today,” Omusi said.
He said that if Oruche loves the country so much, why has she not accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of corruption instead of venting her anger on the Labour Party national chairman.
The State party youth leader said Oruche cannot hide and make herself a willing tool in the hands of the opposition party to rubbish their chairman whom they cherish and hold in high esteem without receiving any resistance from them.
“We the youth of Labour Party in Edo State, led by Ken Omusi, the State youth leader, we are peace loving people and we want Edo State to be peaceful.
“We are calling on the relevant authorities, the Commissioner of Police, DSS and all relevant stakeholders in Edo State that this kind of assault that was meted on our national chairman by some individual like person known as Mama P, who is not actually from our State and has no political relevance and she is playing politics and some persons are paying her as thugs to start insulting people, I and the entire youth of Labour Party in Edo State, we are not ready to take that insult.
“If it is true that the police have declared Abure wanted, because that was the accusation of Mama P, it should be duly investigated by the police and if it is an allegation, the police should do well to bring her to book because this can lead to a lot of crisis in the State,” Omusi said.
He said if Oruche claims to be a true member of Labour Party, she should come out boldly and tell Nigerians how Abure is the problem of Nigerians.
