The 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been taken into custody. Tyler Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday night in southern Utah after having allegedly confessed to his father, Matt Robinson. Charlie Kirk, 31, the leader of Turning Point USA, died after being shot at Utah Valley University, an incident that the stunned the US. He was a close ally of President Donald Trump. The suspect in Kirk’s assassination case became “more political” in recent times and spoke about disliking the conservative activist’s ideas, Daily Mail reported citing officials.Why was Charlie Kirk killed?Robinson was turned into police overnight by his father and a minister in southern Utah after authorities shared images of the shooter, as per reports. “In the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,” Utah Governor Spencer Cox said.The suspect reportedly talked about disliking Charlie Kirk at a recent dinner with family, where he mentioned the conservative was coming to Utah, authorities said. Robinson allegedly said at the dinner that “Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate”, the report said. Investigators recovered bullet casings with unusual inscriptions, Cox stated. One fired casing was found bearing the message: “notices bulges OWO what’s this?”.
