A 35-year-old man ended his life unable to stomach some stranger having cut down a tree he had planted years back in Alagappan Nagar under Subramaniyapuram police station limits.
The police said that the man, J. Jegatheesh Kumar, who was a college bus driver, had the habit of planting saplings in Alagappan Nagar area for the last few years.
When he heard that one of the trees was uprooted, he was mentally upset and took the extreme step.
He died at the Government Rajaji Hospital on Saturday.
Based on his mother’s complaint, Subramaniyapuram police have registered a case.
