Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu adjourned the House sine die on Saturday, on conclusion of the business as scheduled for eight working days.
Mr. Patrudu said the House conducted business for a total of 46 hours, in which 120 members participated in discussions and approved 23 Bills. On the other hand, the government withdrew three Bills.
The Speaker further said that a total of 55 starred questions were answered and 71 starred and 3 unstarred questions placed before the table of the House. While three short duration questions were discussed, an answer for one question was placed in the House.
The Assembly held six short duration discussions on various issues and passed three government resolutions. One statement was given by a Minister and a committee report was presented for the consent of the House. The Amenities Committee, headed by the Speaker, placed a report on Saturday, requesting the government to restructure pay and allowances for the Members in the House.
The committee report suggested to enhance the prevailing pension for retired members from ₹30,000 to a minimum of ₹50,000 and a maximum of ₹70,000. It also suggested medical facilities for both retired and serving members on par with the All India Service officers. The committee also recommended the government to rationalise the existing pay and allowances.
