So far this season, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have not looked like a top-tier Super Bowl contender. Entering Week 4 NFL action, they are just 1-2 and are badly in need of picking up another win against the Baltimore Ravens.
Mahomes and the offense have been one of the biggest issues. They simply haven’t looked very dynamic. Defensively, the team has been solid, but it hasn’t been enough to lead the Chiefs to wins.
With that being said, there has been a lot of speculation about Kansas City potentially pursuing a trade for offensive help.

Tyreek Hill has been the most popular name in the rumor mill surrounding the Chiefs. He could be an option, but another suggestion has been made that could make a lot of sense for Kansas City as well.

John Sigler of Saints Wire has suggested New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave as a potential option for the Chiefs. He also suggested what a potential trade between the two teams could look like.
In his trade idea, Kansas City would acquire Olave from the Saints in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick. That price tag might be a bit steep for the Chiefs, but adding Olave’s playmaking ability to the offense would help Mahomes in a big way.
Olave, who was originally drafted by New Orleans with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has shown flashes of being a No. 1 option. However, he has also dealt with a number of injury issues that have derailed his career somewhat.
Throughout his four-year NFL career thus far, Olave has played in 42 games. He has caught 214 passes for 2,730 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Being able to play alongside Mahomes would help elevate Olave’s game quite a bit. He is a dynamic deep threat, which is something that Mahomes has thrived playing with. Looking back to when Hill was on the Kansas City roster, Mahomes found him on deep throws week in and week out consistently.
It’s an interesting idea for the Chiefs. Olave may not end up being made available, but if the Saints do open up to the idea, Kansas City should place a call to see what it would take to acquire him.
