A Must-Play Horror Game

A Must-Play Horror Game

Xbox Game Pass is still the most notorious gaming subscription service on the market right now, but PlayStation Plus is steadily catching up with some fantastic additions. With September coming to a close following the addition of genre staples like Psychonauts 2 and Stardew Valley, October already has an incredibly strong start thanks to a few strong contenders.
Even if some of the other October releases for PlayStation Plus subscribers were overshadowed by the last-minute September addition of The Last Of Us Part 2 for all users, it’s not the beloved horror experience arriving for the season. Arriving alongside the likes of Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon, Remedy Entertainment’s innovative sequel, Alan Wake 2, is finally joining the PlayStation party for Plus subscribers.
Alan Wake 2’s Mind-Bending Adventure Is Coming To PS Plus
As revealed in the September State of Play showcase, Alan Wake 2 will be available from October 7 until November 3, giving you plenty of time to experience the entirety of its uniquely eerie adventures. Aside from The Last of Us 2, Alan Wake 2 is the biggest draw of the month outside of Sony’s own zombie-filled classic, and it’s more than worth checking out if you have a PlayStation Plus membership already.
Earning its title as the best horror game of 2023, the presentation of Alan Wake 2’s story is a breath of fresh air that can be enjoyed even if you haven’t played the original games. If you have, though, it also offers plenty of connections for fans of the franchise to dig into.
Alan Wake 2 doesn’t come with the additional content included in its story-expanding Night Springs DLC, but that isn’t required to enjoy the full experience. Its availability on all three tiers of the PlayStation Plus membership more than makes up for the DLC’s absence.
Alan Wake Is The Perfect Series To Play For The Spooky Season
If you find yourself wanting more spooky games to play after beating Alan Wake 2 or want more from the franchise itself, the 2021 release of Alan Wake Remastered is an excellent follow-up to get a better grasp on its characters and world-building. Remedy Entertainment has crafted an entire cinematic universe for its game franchises like Alan Wake and Control, so there are plenty of rewards in store for those willing to take the plunge into their twisted and satisfying supernatural stories.
