KSHEC workshop at MGU

The Centre of Excellence for Teaching Learning & Training (CETLT) under the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC), in association with Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), conducted a five-day faculty training programme from September 23 to 27. As many as forty teachers from the university and various colleges attended the programme.

An official statement said the event was aimed at equipping university and college teachers for the effective rollout of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) to maximise circular objectives envisaged in the curriculum and credit frame. Sessions were held on outcome-based education (OBE), emphasising curriculum restructuring, measurable learning outcomes and student-centric assessment models. Faculty were also introduced to digital pedagogy, focusing on the use of technology-enabled teaching tools, blended learning approaches and innovative classroom strategies.

In his valedictory address, KSHEC member secretary Rajan Varughese said KSHEC would soon expand this initiative to all districts and ensure that every university and college teacher in Kerala benefits from structured training in OBE and digital pedagogy.
