One of the most outspoken commentators on TV and radio could soon set sparks flying on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity.
LBC host Nick Ferrari, 66, is said to be in talks with producers for a lucrative deal to take part in the show.
Famed for years as an incisive radio interviewer, he’s become a popular commentator on ITV’s This Morning where he makes regular appearances.
A source told The Sun: “Jungle bosses think Nick would be a brilliant addition this year.
“He knows everyone in politics so he would have a wealth of Westminster gossip around the campfire.
“Producers are determined to bag him this year and are prepared to dig deep into their pockets for a lucrative fee.”
Nick Ferrari and ITV have been approached for comment.
Last month, Nick married his long-term partner Clare Patterson in an intimate ceremony in the south of France, attended by friends Christopher Biggins, Myleene Klass and Piers Morgan.
The day was officiated by actor Christopher, while Myleene played Humming Class from the Italian opera Madame Butterfly on the harp and Piers gave a reading.
Ferrari revealed he proposed to Clare last Christmas at their favourite restaurant in the south of France. Clare is a radio producer 15 years’ Ferrari’s junior and they have been together for a decade.
They officially married in a civil ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall, surrounded by close family and friends.
The television personality broke the news of his engagement on This Morning with presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Cat said they had “breaking news” before announcing Nick was “officially off the market”, while pannelist Vanessa Feltz quipped she was “devastated”.
Ferrari said: “Well I know a nation’s heart is broken but I have to impart the news that I am engaged to be wed to Clare.
“I am engaged to be wed to Clare. We had the most idyllic Christmas and we’d been to Lapland and had a brilliant time.
“Then we were down in the South of France and after ten years together I said she can make an honest man out of me. I did it at our favourite restaurant in the South of France.”
Ferrari joked he had once got down on one knee in a DIY store, only for Clare too pass him a screwdriver.
The TV host has two sons with ex-wife Sandra Phylis Conolly. Besides LBC, he is known for his appearances on The Pledge on Sky News, Richard & Judy, London Tonight and BBC London News.
Ferrari was privately educated at Eltham College and began his journalism career at his father Lino’s news agency Ferrari Press Agency. He went on to newspapers The Sun and The Mirror before moving into broadcasting.
