    Security plan in place for Vijay’s campaign in Tiruchi

    The Tiruchi City Police have readied a security scheme exclusively for the visit of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder and actor Vijay here on Saturday. The scheme has been drafted as Mr. Vijay has been accorded “Y” scale security with Central Reserve Police Force personnel cover.

    Police sources said Mr. Vijay would arrive at Tiruchi airport by a chartered flight from Chennai at around 9.30 a.m. Police personnel would be deployed at the airport from where he would reach Marakkadai Junction — the meeting venue — by road. The meeting is scheduled from 10.35 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Over 700 police personnel are to be deployed exclusively for Mr. Vijay’s event in Tiruchi. As part of the security arrangements, police teams would be deployed at vantage spots along the route from the airport including at Kottapattu, TVS Tollgate, Head Post Office, Melapudur and Prabhat roundabout, Gandhi Market arch, Sanjeevi Nagar junction along the Chennai Bypass and at check-post 5.

    Mr. Vijay will travel via Gandhi Market arch, Thanjavur road, Palpannai roundabout and Chennai bypass before proceeding to Ariyalur.
