Admit it, even you thought of becoming an actor at least once during your childhood. While it is not easy to get a chance and act in a big project, not all those who once received an opportunity decided to continue in the showbiz world. One such person is Girish Kumar.
Girish Kumar made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with the romantic comedy film Ramaiya Vastavaiya, opposite Shruti Haasan. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the film revolves around a city boy Ram, who falls in love with village girl Sona.
However, even though Kumar’s debut film was liked for its music, it was a box office flop. The film failed to recover its budget.
Girish Kumar’s Bollywood journey didn’t quite take off as expected, with only a couple of films to his name. He was last seen in the 2016 movie Loveshhuda.
Despite being born into a film-producing family, with his father Kumar S. Taurani and uncle Ramesh S. Taurani being notable figures, Girish’s acting career didn’t gain much momentum.
After stepping away from acting, Girish Kumar found success in the corporate world, running a business worth a staggering ₹10,000 crores. He joined his family’s Tips Industries. Today, as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), he works closely with his father and uncle to expand the company’s music and film ventures.
Under his leadership, Tips Industries has achieved remarkable growth, with a market value of ₹8,533.40 crore as of June 24, 2025. The company had previously reached a market capitalisation of over ₹10,500 crore in 2024.
As Girish is focused on his business now and not on acting, his net worth today is more than a number of Bollywood A-listers.
If a report by the Economic Times is to be believed, his personal wealth is around ₹2164 crores. This is much higher than top Bollywood actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
While Ranbir Kapoor has a net worth of ₹400 crore, Ranveer Singh’s net worth is estimated at ₹245 crore. Varun Dhawan’s net worth is also ₹380 crore.
