Here’s a look at players who missed action on the 18th due to injury:
Rays third baseman Junior Caminero sat thanks to back tightness. He left the Rays’ game on the 17th with said injury.
Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday (soreness) did not play against the Yankees.
Marlins infielder Xavier Edwards (wrist) missed his fourth straight game.
Rehab assignments
Royals pitcher Bailey Falter threw a scoreless inning (19 pitches) for Omaha (AAA). Falter topped at 95 MPH during the outing.
Orioles C/DH Gary Sanchez went 2-4 for Norfolk (AAA) against the Marlins’ Triple-A affiliate. In that same contest, Derek Hill went 1-3 with a double and run scored.
Twins catcher Christian Vazquez, as the St. Paul (AAA) DH, went 0-3 with two walks.
Tigers reliever Kyle Finnegan struck out one and walked one over 0.2 IP (13 pitches) for Toledo (AAA). Finnegan averaged 97 MPH and maxed out at 98 MPH.
Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander went 1-3 with a home run for Buffalo (AAA). Santander was the starting DH for the Bisons.
Other injury news
Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu (calf) will work out in Boston on the 19th. He remains on the injured list.
The Mets placed Reed Garrett on the 15-day IL (retroactive to September 15) with a right elbow sprain.
Paul Sewald (Tigers) was activated off the injured list.
